Michaeline: Caturday and Puzzle Answers

Well, last week was a bust as far as my priming experiment. I provided a word search Saturday with special words meant to prompt my subconscious into a writing mood . . . but, you know. It was busy. I was tired. I don’t have a story that urgently needs to get written down. And, on the happy side, my daughter and son-in-law are visiting! I’d rather have a nice dinner and chat with them instead of holing away and writing.

So, today, I give you the answers to the word search (in case you were wondering), and also this:

A CAT’S GUIDE TO INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Kana stands behind, looking benevolent, while Yuta peers out from a paper bag.

Defend the bag! (Picture by E.M. Duskova)

1. Find a good-sized bag — not too big, or you’ll have to share, but not too small, either.

2. Hide in bag.
3. Defend bag by swiping at anyone who gets too close.

It’s not going to work on the international level unless we want to go back to catching prey with our own hands. But it could very well work for a writer who needs a little extra writing time. Just have to find the right-sized bag.

I also found the bonus words “NUT” and “AMOR” — and yes, it counts, even though it’s part of “ROMANTIC”, because this is more about what my Girls find interesting, and less about game rules. 1. So nice for you that your daughter and son-in-law are visiting! I find that after I travel or after I have company, that my creative juices get all stirred up, and I’m more productive than usual. I have no reason to urge you to be more productive, unless being *less* productive makes you unhappy. Just saying, your daughter and son-in-law might provide some stimulus in that direction. Do they live close (i.e., Japan)?

P.S. The cat pictures are funny!

  2. It would be wonderful if I could catch my breath, and then dive right into a very productive summer! (I hope you have primed the pump, LOL!)

My daughter and her husband live in upstate New York, so it’s really good seeing them! They are here for a few weeks, then we’ll meet up again in Tokyo in early June, where I’ll see my youngest daughter, and some old family friends visiting from the US. Hee-hee, I feel like QUITE the social butterfly this year.

(-: And thanks for enjoying the cat pictures. They are a funny little pair, and I try not to exploit them too often. The black one, Kana, has a strange relationship with the camera. When I’m taking pictures of her with my phone, she’ll start crying at the phone . . . I don’t know what’s up with that. Greta Garbo syndrome? Or maybe she feels the waves bouncing off her (the ones that let the camera know how to adjust the light and field of focus, maybe)?

Cats. Someone ought to write a book about them, LOL.
