Happy 4th of July to our American followers and Happy Wednesday to everyone else. We’ll be back on Thursday with another insightful writing-related post, but for now it’s time to relax and take a little breather. So far, a parade, a good book, and a root-beer float (not necessarily in that order) are on the top of my agenda – hope yours is filled with equally enjoyable things.
Cheers!
A root beer float! What a good idea. I love those.
Happy independence day, everyone! For the history buffs out there, or for those who feel feisty, here’s the text to the U.S. Declaration of Independence. I read a lot of history in college, and this always gives me a thrill.

Heading out to see the Dayton Dragons play baseball in a little while. Hope you’re having a great 4th!
Root beer! Gosh, I love root beer. It’s somewhat available here, and sometimes I make a syrup (I’ve got root beer flavoring from the last century, I believe) and mix it with sparkling water. (-: It’s not always available, so I tend to hoard it. Once, a friend came by and said, “Oh, you have a can of root beer in your fridge!” And I told her it was an emergency root beer for a holiday or a Really Bad Day. I felt a little like a bad hostess, but my friend lives in town where she can pick up her own root beer more easily than I can.
